Props To MacInTouch

I noticed an enormous spike in my bandwidth usage this morning. It looks as though the Apple Product Cycle piece got picked up by MacInTouch today. I've been a regular reader of Ric's for years, so now I feel like I've really made it big.

In related news, my next Cult of Mac-based artistic endeavor will be available in this space shortly. Stay tuned to be the first on your block to read this amazingly disappointing follow-up effort.

"Nerd porn". Take the covers off, take them all off!

Lovely!

Owned Apple II (rev 6 kbd) before they started putting fancy-pants pissant lower-case letters like "e" and "gs" on the end. Owned Macs: SE, Centris 610, 7500, G4 "Yikes" 400MHz, iBook G3 600 MHz. Bought second-hand Plus and new fruit-flavored iMac for my folks (who went on to buy iBook 500MHz). Daughter (23) with 400 MHz iBook, son (30) with fruit-flavored iMac. We be Mac folks, I have the credentials to say my piece.

I loved the article.

P.S. Whoever Maria Bartiromo is, she looks like the final solution to the problem of old floppies! Could definitely restore your auto-eject mechanism.

I've been using Apple machines since the ][e and Dan, you da man! You have your finger on the pulse of the macintosh market, including its fringes that use the mac-wanna-workalike more commonly referred to as Windows.

Thanks for making the start of my morning hilarious.

Laughed until I cried. Literally. Right up there with some of Dave Barry's best pieces.

Dan....
I got a buzz from your amusing Product Cycle piece. I bought a Apple II in 1981 and my first Mac in 1985 and had probably a dozen other Macs subsequent. Hell I even talked to Guy Kawasaki once. In 1996 as I descended deeper into corporate management, I was forced to go to the WinWorld exclusively.

As I read your piece, I flashed on all those hours spent reading MacUser/MacWorld and the Compuserve Mac Forums.....and the absurdity of the exchanges that you captured in your piece.

I'm buying my Junior in college son a Dual G5 for his "summer project" and in the course of renewing my relationship with Cupertino, I ran across your piece. It brought back memories.

Thanks---

Cheers,
Mike Whatley/Altadena, Ca.
