A Little About Las Vegas Club
The Las Vegas Club is a low-rent joint on the western end of Fremont Street. You won't see a whole lot of black chips flying around here. They are known primarily for their unusual blackjack rules, which they claim are the best in Las Vegas. At their five dollar tables, you are allowed to double down on two, three or four cards. The catches are that the house hits on soft 17 and only same-suit blackjacks pay 3 to 2. On the balance, I'm not convinced that these rules really work to the player's advantage. The Las Vegas Club is also the only place that I've ever been asked to leave because they thought I was counting cards. Considering that I was up $75 on them at the time, I actually feel like they did me a favor.
